Race Night – 28 Mar 2014

A great night at the Clubhouse.  Thanks to all those who sponsored a race, bought a horse and especially those who turned up on the night for without you the night would not have been such a success. Picnics, classy looking ladies, ownership of horses, Tote betting and no skill required to win, (which is probably why most people won something!!). Valuable funds raised for the Club which will be appreciated by all those who did not attend.

Eyemouth Winter Festival week-end

Wow.  260 golfers played in the Eyemouth Winter Festival week-end over Sat 15 March (Stableford) and Sunday 16 March (Medal) when Eyemouth really showed its teeth.  Get this, only one golfer played to par over the whole week-end.  Tom Gillie in the Stableford on Saturday had 36 points.  Early start and great result.  All the rest were blown away.  Whilst the course was in great condition and attracted many compliments the wind was really fierce and tested everyone to the utmost.  Mark Collin the Eyemouth Club Champion came out tops with the best Scratch score on each day but even he off +1 could only manage a gross 78 on Sunday.  A true test of golf and in particular coping with the elements.  Many thanks to all who entered and well done to all who completed their rounds, an achievement in itself. A great and successful week-end.  Please come back next year and try again.
