Eyemouth Golf club is very proud to nominate Alistair Collin to be in with a chance of winning a luxury golfing weekend in partnership with Betfair. With just 20 clubs taking part we really hope Alistair wins as he has been so dedicated to our club and it would be a great reward for his commitment. Alistair will also be receiving a £100 gift voucher for American Golf so he can treat himself to some new gear. Alistair has been an invaluable member of Eyemouth Golf Club ever since we moved to our new Club house and Course in 1997. Whilst his official role is that of Bar Convener Alistair is the go to man for anything to do with running the Golf Club. Eyemouth is run by a team of volunteers who make up the Club Committee and whilst Captains and Committee Members come and go Alistair is the one constant; the glue; that holds everything together. Alistair effectively runs the golf club. It is not something he is willing to admit but everyone at the club recognizes his dedication and input. His record keeping in terms of numbers and Income/expenditure be it for visitors, buggies, bar, gas, electricity, Open Competitions etc. is second to none. He effectively monitors the heartbeat of the club. Every voluntary organisation needs an Alistair. Alistair has a quiet dedication and commitment to making Eyemouth Golf Club a better place for its members and Visitors. He does this with no thought of reward for himself. This is an opportunity for that dedication to be recognized.
There are over 10,000 holes at the 556 Scottish Golf Courses so we are proud that the 6th Hole at Eyemouth has been selected to be in the Top 18. We are featured in the Visit Scotland 'Golf in Scotland Magazine 2015' alongside such courses as: The Old Course at St Andrews, Carnoustie, Trump Turnberry, Trump International, North Berwick, Kingsbarns, Royal Aberdeen, Royal Troon, Castle Stewart and the Kings at Gleneagles. Why not come and play one of Scotland's top 18 holes at a fraction of the cost of our 'contemporaries'?
By popular consensus the Presentation Night on Sat 8 November 2014 was probably the best ever. With over 80 attendees enjoying an excellent Buffet prepared by George and Heather followed by presentations to our competition winners the night got off to a flying start. John Peakman provided some outstanding music all of which encouraged people to dance. The dance floor was never empty. Add to all that some experimental cocktails filling up the Trophies and demonstrations of some members excellent drinking skills the night was a real success. It was however about our winners. The photo (Barry Howells) is of our Club Champions, Jim Veitch (Seniors), Mary Gibson (Ladies), Mark Collin (Club Champion)

Historic Agreement between Scottish and English Golf Clubs. Two Clubs for the price of one!! Eyemouth Golf Club in Berwickshire (Scotland) and Blyth Golf Club in Northumberland (England) are pleased to announce a historic partnership between the two Clubs. Membership of either club will automatically entitle Members to have playing rights at the other Club free of charge. The two clubs offer an entirely different golfing experience with Eyemouth Golf Club being a cliff top links course and Blyth Golf Club being a mature parkland course. Mel Lockett, Club Captain at Eyemouth says, ‘With both the EGU and SGU announcing a significant drop in Golf Club Membership in the last few years it is up to local Golf Club Committees and Management to find added benefits for their Members. We at Eyemouth welcome this agreement as a great opportunity and demonstrate to our Members by offering something extra at no extra cost’. John Hall, Golf Club Manager Blyth GC says, ‘Golf as an industry has suffered from the recession much the same way as other industries have. At Blyth, we have adopted a number of initiatives during the recession in an effort to ensure the long term success of the Club. We also welcome this opportunity to partner with Eyemouth Golf Club. We feel sure that Membership at both clubs, now offers excellent value for money.’ Press Release issue
